The latest drop has seen CD 190 travel about 140 miles north from the mighty Rock City in Nottingham to the potentially less rocking environment of Trevelyan College Undercroft at Durham University.
Actually, what are we saying? If it came from Rock City it’s automatically Total Rock (TM)!
Thanks to Chromana for the final drop, and to George for getting it to Durham in the first place!

…well, India of course. One copy of the roving album has made it to the sub-continent thanks to one of our travelling ambassadors, Agent Alex. It was deposited on a sofa in the Residency Tower hotel in Kerala. If you find it, do let us know.
As ever, keep ‘em coming…

Rags Hotel, Bridlington
This is just about the best thing that could have happened to any of our dropped CDs: lucky number 13 has travelled all the way from Covent Garden in London to the Rags Hotel & Bar in Bridlington, courtesy of Big Tim.
The lyric in You Look Prettier When I’m Happy about ‘Bridlington Bay on a bank holiday’ was inspired by holiday trips there as a kid, so we’re dead pleased that the songs have found their way back there through nothing more than serendipity. Oh, and Tim’s keen sense of art.
Keep ‘em coming…

It’s been a good week for The Wonderland Project; a CD making it to Nova Scotia, a great review from Black Plastic, and now, to cap it all we welcome to the world the lovely Avi.
Scott & Kate’s little girl, Avi was born yesterday on the 3rd September. Mum and baby doing well. Dad sounded like bit of a wreck on the phone earlier, but so long as he dropped a CD in maternity, we’re golden.
Happy days indeed.

The lovely people at Black Plastic have reviewed the album and guess what? They like it!
Sample comments:
“an enchanting record“
“made to drag you through a dreary Monday morning“
About the “dropped” distribution idea:
“It’s a captivating and magical idea and, frankly, the majors should be kicking themselves for not thinking of using this as a method of promotion for a major artist.“
Thanks to Black Plastic for getting it!
Here’s the review

… Nova Scotia! Yes, one of the CDs (number 15 to be precise) has found its way overseas to Halifax, Nova Scotia in Canada. It was initially dropped on the back of a food van called Choc Star in Covent Garden, so it’s nice to see one of the sillier drop zones bearing such sweet fruit!
Check it out on the map!

We thought it might be fun to think of some places you could drop off CDs. We’ll be leaving them all around, but we pick fairly public places, and also places where they’ll remain dry if it rains a little. Some ideas might be:
- Bus stops (the type with a roof)
- The pub
- Libraries
- Museums
- Music venues
- Your workplace
- Public transport (drop it off on the commuter run)
- Restaurants
- Anywhere overseas – take it on holiday!
You get the idea; places where people go and will see it.
We want to see some really creative drops, and maybe the most interesting (as backed up by a photo) might win some kind of prize (we’re not sure what that might be yet though). Get thinking, and mail us the results at info-at-thewonderlandproject.org!

CD001 on the 81 bus, top deck, Brighton
On this, the August bank holiday 2008 the first copies of The Wonderland The History of Science and How to Mend a Broken Heart have hit the streets in Brighton and London.
You can check out the locations on the Roving Album Map Page (RAMP).
Over the next month or so we’ll be dropping around 500 of these babies all around the UK and beyond. If you find one, you can leave us the location at the RAMP page above.
It’s a glorious moment in our history, comrades, so get out there and get ‘em while they’re hot.

Thanks to Sweeping the Nation for the write up of the album drop.
Writing about the release of the album, they say: “Someone has to put the fun back into the way music is presented, so it might as well be The Wonderland Project“.
They also wonder how successful our little roving album will be, and they can join the proverbial club!

So, we decided to make the album available for sale on Amazon.co.uk and sent them all the details, ready with our boxed up shipment. They then asked for one copy to be sent to them because they have no idea what the demand will be like (an avalanche of clamouring customers, duh). So if you’re reading this and would like to support our efforts to the tune of £9.99 – that’s less than £1 per tune – then pre-order ‘em here kids.
You can also write a review, good or bad, we don’t mind.
Thank you, thank you.
